60kVA 440V 60Hz IGBT Static Voltage Stabilizer for Marine Equipment

Taizhou Jinhaiyun Marine Equipment Co., Ltd. (泰州市金海运船用设备有限责任公司) required a dedicated power source for testing and commissioning marine equipment designed for three-phase 440 V/60 Hz operation. The available workshop supply was three-phase 380 V/50 Hz, so the test setup needed a stable supply at the equipment’s rated voltage and frequency.

WINZPOWER, a brand of Shanghai Wenzheng Electric Co., Ltd., manufactured a 60 kVA WPZ Series IGBT static voltage stabilizer for the project. The unit was configured for a three-phase 380 V/50 Hz input and a regulated three-phase 440 V/60 Hz output.

Why the Equipment Required 440 V/60 Hz

The marine equipment is designed to operate from a three-phase 440 V/60 Hz supply. A step-up transformer can raise the workshop voltage from 380 V to 440 V, but it cannot change the frequency from 50 Hz to 60 Hz. The project therefore required a power source that could provide both specified output conditions.

The WPZ Series unit uses an AC-DC-AC power structure. The incoming three-phase AC supply is rectified to DC, and an IGBT inverter then generates the required AC output frequency. An output isolation transformer provides electrical isolation and the required output voltage before power is supplied to the connected equipment.

Assembly at the Factory

The 60 kVA unit was assembled as a floor-standing cabinet. Its power section, control assemblies, busbars, protection devices and terminals were installed for the specified three-phase input and output connections.

Shanghai Wenzheng Electric Co., Ltd. completed the cabinet assembly and internal inspection at the WINZPOWER factory before functional testing.
