Meiji Indonesia Food Manufacturing Facility with 1000KVA Voltage Stabilizer System

Introduction

This project introduces the 1000KVA industrial voltage stabilizer provided by Winzele for the Meiji Indonesia food manufacturing facility. After the production base expanded and new equipment was put into operation, the original power supply system showed voltage variation during different production periods. Through on-site assessment by the local installation contractor, a 1000KVA voltage stabilization solution was confirmed, using a series-connected voltage stabilizer integrated into the existing power supply line to provide a stable voltage environment for production equipment.

As an application of a factory voltage stabilizer at an overseas food manufacturing base, the capacity requirement was specified by the Japanese customer, and the local installation contractor completed the power supply condition assessment at the Karawang site and assisted in equipment installation and commissioning.

How Was the 1000KVA Voltage Stabilizer Capacity Determined?

Capacity determination process:

Customer Project Requirements ↓ Local Installation Contractor Site Assessment ↓ Existing Power System Evaluation ↓ 1000KVA Solution Confirmation

The capacity solution is based on actual project requirements and on-site conditions.

Power Challenge

All-Day Voltage Fluctuation After Expansion

The original power supply system was designed for the early production requirements. After expansion, new production equipment and automated machinery were added, increasing load differences across different time periods:

  • Daytime production periods: After equipment is in operation, current demand increases and input voltage drops;
  • Nighttime periods: Production load decreases and voltage rises.

The daytime drop and nighttime rise create all-day input voltage fluctuation, affecting the operation stability of production equipment and automated equipment.

This is a common voltage problem after factory expansion. Similar voltage fluctuation problems are common in expanded manufacturing facilities, continuous production factories and automated production lines.

Solution Provided

1000KVA Series-connected Voltage Stabilization System

Winzele adopted a series-connected voltage stabilization solution, integrating a 1000KVA industrial voltage stabilizer into the existing power supply system without replacing the original electrical infrastructure.

  • The original line was disconnected;
  • The stabilizer was connected in series;
  • The stabilized output is maintained at 380V, supplying production equipment.

Without replacing the original grid structure, the stabilization system improves the production power supply environment and increases voltage consistency under different production conditions. The on-site requirement is that the stabilized output is maintained at 380V, meeting the operating requirements of production equipment.

Power System Configuration

This section explains how the stabilization equipment is connected into the on-site electrical system:

Configuration Item Value
Connection Method Series connection into the existing power supply line
Wiring Structure Top Entry / Top Exit
Installation Location Existing distribution room, adapted to on-site layout

The stabilizer is connected into the existing power supply line, and the stabilized output supplies production equipment; the incoming cable enters from the top of the cabinet and the output cable exits from the top, adapted to the on-site distribution room layout.

Customized Cable Entry Arrangement

According to the layout requirements of the Indonesia on-site distribution room, this project adopts a Top Entry / Top Exit wiring arrangement:

  • The incoming cable enters from the top of the cabinet (Top Entry);
  • The output cable exits from the top (Top Exit);
  • Adapted to the existing power distribution system layout.

This structure is customized according to the on-site distribution room cable routing and the existing distribution layout, facilitating installation and wiring in the existing distribution environment.

IEC-based Electrical Configuration

The electrical configuration was completed according to overseas installation requirements, using IEC cable color identification (IEC international cable identification standard):

L1 Brown Phase 1
L2 Black Phase 2
L3 Gray Phase 3
N Blue Neutral
PE Yellow-Green Protective Earth

The electrical configuration meets overseas installation and acceptance requirements, and on-site wiring is identified and connected according to IEC standard color marking.

FAQ

Q: Why does the factory experience different voltage levels during day and night after expansion? A: The original power supply system was designed for early production requirements. After expansion, new production equipment and automation loads were added. During daytime operation, current demand increases and input voltage drops; at night, production load decreases and voltage rises, creating all-day input voltage fluctuation.

Q: What does series connection mean? A: Series connection means connecting the stabilizer into the existing power supply line: the original line is disconnected and the stabilizer is connected in, and the stabilized output then supplies production equipment. This improves the power supply environment without replacing the grid.

Q: Why was a 1000KVA stabilizer selected? A: The capacity for this project was proposed by the customer and confirmed through local installation contractor site assessment, based on the production base’s power supply system and load conditions.

Q: How to select the right voltage stabilizer capacity for a factory? A: Industrial voltage stabilizer capacity generally needs to be determined considering transformer capacity, production load characteristics, starting current, on-site voltage conditions and power distribution system structure. The 1000KVA capacity in this project was proposed by the customer and confirmed through local installation contractor site assessment. A food manufacturing voltage stabilizer selection also needs to combine production load characteristics and on-site power supply conditions.

Q: Is this project applicable to overseas food manufacturing factories? A: Similar solutions apply to industrial scenarios that need improved voltage stability, such as expanded manufacturing bases, food processing plants and continuous production factories.
