2. Project Background

The DMG MORI DMC 210 FD is a high-value industrial machine. It is a mill-turn machining center that integrates CNC control, a spindle drive and servo systems, allowing turning and milling operations to be completed in a single setup.

For a manufacturing company, this type of machine is not just a production tool — it is a significant capital investment. Whether the machine can operate reliably over the long term depends on the infrastructure conditions at the site. Among these conditions, power quality is an element that is often underestimated, yet it directly affects the stability of machine operation.

High-value machine tools rely on stable and reliable power infrastructure to support long-term operation.

3. Power Challenge

Industrial power supply conditions are not always ideal:

  • Voltage fluctuation: grid load changes and the start/stop of large workshop equipment can cause voltage variations;
  • Unstable power supply: grid voltage can differ across time periods and supply conditions;
  • Different power requirements: the power configuration of imported high-end machine tools may not directly match the site power supply.

For an imported high-end machine tool, the requirement is not only voltage matching but also a stable power supply environment. Voltage fluctuation can affect the stability of machine operation, and it is an engineering issue that equipment users need to address when planning their power solution.

4. Winzele Solution

Winzele designed and manufactured a 250KVA voltage stabilization and isolation power system for this project, consisting of two core components with different functions:

250KVA Voltage Stabilizer

  • The voltage stabilizer maintains stable voltage. It regulates the supply voltage during grid fluctuations and provides a stable operating voltage for the machine.

250KVA Full-Capacity Isolation Transformer

  • The isolation transformer provides electrical isolation and a dedicated machine-side power architecture. Sized for the full machine power path, it electrically separates the machine supply from the upstream workshop distribution system.

The two components complement each other with different roles: the stabilizer addresses voltage stability, while the isolation transformer addresses electrical separation. Two different functions combined in one dedicated machine power solution.
