Customer Background
SINMAG Equipment (China) Co., Ltd. manufactures bakery equipment and commercial kitchen equipment. Its products are sold in the domestic market and exported to overseas markets.
Grid standards are not the same in every country: 50Hz and 60Hz are the two main frequency systems, and voltage levels differ as well. In this project the equipment under test was supplied at 208V / 60Hz, while on the domestic production line the same equipment normally runs at 380V / 50Hz. Exported equipment needs to be verified against the supply conditions of the target market, so this verification is carried out at the target market’s voltage and frequency during factory testing.
To complete this verification before shipment, the customer needed an adjustable, repeatable test power source at the test station, able to simulate the voltage and frequency conditions of the target market.

Project Requirements
The customer needed to verify exported equipment under different voltage and frequency conditions during pre-delivery testing. The specific requirements were:
- Simulation of different voltage conditions: output different voltage levels at the same test station so that the equipment runs at the voltage of its target market
- 50Hz / 60Hz frequency conversion (50Hz 60Hz power supply): output frequency selectable between 50Hz and 60Hz to cover the grid frequency of different countries and regions
- Three-phase test power output: a three-phase four-wire (3Φ 4W+G) test supply for three-phase equipment
- Repeatable test conditions: test parameters can be set and recalled, keeping the test conditions of every unit of the same model identical
The conventional approach requires separate test equipment for each voltage and frequency combination, which makes changeover slow. The customer wanted a single adjustable power source to cover several supply conditions.
Solution
For these requirements, Winzele provided a customized 30kVA three-phase variable frequency power supply, model WVFP-33030KVA.
The WVFP series is an AC test power source based on static frequency conversion technology, designed for voltage and frequency simulation. Output voltage and output frequency are adjusted independently through AC-DC-AC conversion: the input is taken from the factory 380V three-phase grid and, after rectification and inversion, provides an adjustable three-phase four-wire output — 0-260V in the low range and 261-520V in the high range. Both are set to the test requirement, with a voltage regulation accuracy of ±2%. A single wiring configuration lets the test power source switch between different voltage and frequency combinations.

This image shows the 30kVA WVFP unit and its touchscreen control interface, illustrating the adjustable output voltage and frequency of the equipment.
Key features:
- Adjustable output voltage: 0-260V in the low range and 261-520V in the high range, settable to the target market voltage (208V was used in this project)
- Adjustable output frequency: selectable between test conditions such as 50Hz and 60Hz
- Touchscreen operation: voltage, frequency and other test parameters are set directly on the touchscreen
- Multiple operating modes: for different test procedures
- Real-time monitoring of voltage and frequency: operating status is displayed on the interface as the test runs
- Suitable for export equipment testing: compact unit, easy to place at the customer’s test station

Touchscreen Control and Voltage/Frequency Simulation
The equipment is operated and monitored from the touchscreen. Test personnel set the output voltage and output frequency on the same interface and read the live voltage and frequency values while the equipment runs, so no additional instruments are needed to check the test conditions.
The interface supports several sets of test parameters and quick adjustment: the operator sets voltage and frequency to the supply conditions of the target market and, when switching between test tasks, either changes the parameters or recalls an existing set, so the same test procedure can be repeated at the same station.

Factory Commissioning and Acceptance
The unit was commissioned before delivery, confirming the output voltage, frequency settings and overall operating status. The customer then came to our facility for acceptance testing, where the output voltage, frequency settings and operating status were checked under load; the unit was shipped once the test had passed.

Customer Application
After installation at the customer site, the unit is used for pre-delivery testing of exported equipment together with the customer’s test station.
208V / 60Hz test condition: the on-site HMI shows a phase voltage of approximately 120V, a line voltage of 208V and a frequency of 60Hz — the low output range (0-260V) — used to test exported equipment under 60Hz grid conditions.
Simulation of different voltage and frequency conditions: depending on the target market of the equipment under test, the output voltage is set within the low range 0-260V or the high range 261-520V, and the output frequency is switched between 50Hz and 60Hz, so that several supply conditions can be verified at the same station.
Actual operating environment: the unit is installed in the test area of the customer’s production site; test conditions are set on the touchscreen and the operating parameters are read in real time during testing.

Project Outcome
- One test power supply covers several supply conditions: the WVFP-33030KVA supports adjustable output voltage and frequency, so different grid conditions can be simulated at the same test station, reducing the need for several power supplies for different test conditions
- Greater flexibility in export equipment testing: output voltage and frequency are set on the touchscreen, so test conditions can be adjusted quickly for different equipment requirements
- More standardized testing: voltage, frequency and other operating parameters are displayed and recorded in real time, so the same model is verified under consistent test conditions
- Operation verified before shipment: with the 30kVA variable frequency test power supply, SINMAG can complete operation tests under different voltage and frequency conditions before the equipment is shipped
