Application of Isolation Transformers in Medical Equipment

Introduction:

Medical equipment is a precision environment with high requirements for power quality. Therefore, the proper placement of isolation transformers is necessary to improve power quality and enhance electrical safety. The classic power supply equipment used in this field is the isolation transformer.

It is worth noting that medical equipment typically uses two or more power supply lines to ensure power continuity and prevent medical accidents.

Applications:

In medical equipment, isolation transformers enhance power supply voltage stability and improve issues such as three-phase imbalance in the current and large voltage differences between the neutral and ground wires.

Selection:

The selection principle is to choose an isolation transformer with low internal resistance and a power rating of 120%-150% of the equipment’s full power.

Design:

Medical isolation transformers are developed specifically for medical applications. They utilize H-class insulated enameled wire windings and are constructed with newly added silicon steel sheets, resulting in low overall loss and high transmission efficiency.

Double insulation is used between the windings, and an electrostatic shield is designed to reduce electromagnetic interference between the windings.

A PT100 temperature sensor is installed inside the windings for monitoring winding temperature.

The transformer as a whole undergoes vacuum impregnation treatment, increasing mechanical strength and providing corrosion resistance.

Furthermore, the product incorporates a low temperature rise and low noise design, resulting in excellent temperature rise performance and very low noise.
